Large group meeting in April

Posted by cjkrebs on March 28, 2012

Hens for Houston will be hosting a large group meeting in April to hammer out a proposed ordinance and coordinate our efforts.

We are currently deciding between the afternoons of April 14, 15, 21 or 22. If you would like to be a part, fill out the Get Involved form on the Home page and we’ll add you to the list! Hurry because we need to pick a date!

At this meeting we will also be talking about research that we have been doing in collaboration with Rice University to graphically show the effect of different types of ordinances on who can raise chickens in Houston. We’ve created mathematical software that shows how many lots in different neighborhoods could raise chickens. This will allow us to write the best ordinance which will allow the most people to raise chickens, while respecting their neighbors. So don’t miss the big unveiling!
